Introduction
Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 to a Tamil Muslim family in Rameswaram. He is the son of a boat owner in Rameswaram.
This is the story of Abdul Kalam’s journey from darkness to light, He had a great career as a Defence scientist.
DR. A P J Abdul Kalam has received the coveted civilian awards Padma Bhushan in the year 1981 and Padma Vibhushan in 1990, and the highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna in 1997, He is also the recipient of several other awards and an associate of many professional institutions.
This story of Kalam is also Related to how India raised its missile power with NAG, TRISHUL, and AGNI missiles.
Orientation
This book Wings of Fire PDF starts with the childhood of Kalam. In starting he introduces us to her family and tries to familiarize us with his birthplace Rameswaram.
He was also influenced by his close friend Ahmed Jalaluddin, they talk about spirituality sometimes which shows that he believed in spirituality and also in God or Khuda. He always went to the temple of Lord Shiva with his friends.
In the opening chapter, he introduces his cousin Samsuddin, his school teachers, and all the people who have felt any difference among them. He completed his school education at the Rameswaram Elementary School and Schwartz High School, Rameswaram.
In 1950, he joined St. Joseph’s College Trichi, to study for the B.Sc degree course when he realized that physics was not his subject. Then, at last, he joined (MIT) Madras Institute of Technology From MIT, he went out to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), in Bangalore as a trainer there he worked as a part of a team.
He had great training in radial engine-cum- drum operations. After completing engineering, he applied for the Air Force and DTP, and PC of the Ministry of Defence. But he failed in physical standards in the Air Force, Later, he was appointed in DTP and PC (Air) as senior scientific Assistant on a salary of Rs. 250 per month.
Creation
Creation consists of seven chapters, from chapters four to ten, and covers 17 years of Abdul Kalam’s Life and work from the year 1963 to 1980. It begins with works at the Langley Research Center, NASA, in Virginia, U.S
In 1967 kalam lost his father who lived up to 102 years and A pleasant surprise came in the form of the conferment of Padma Bhushan on the Republic Day of 1981 this all part has been covered in ‘creation’.
Propitiation
This section of Wings of Fire Book PDF Propitiation covers the years 1981 to 1991, This section also covers the journey of the scientists towards becoming the “Missile Man of India“.
